Brand Identity Design for a Hypothetical Museum, 2023
In semester 2 of my second year of uni, I was tasked with designing a visual identity system for a hypothetical Pattern and Motif Museum. The final deliverables included a brand manual encompassing a design strategy outline, a cohesive visual identity system with graphic assets (logo, colour palette, typography, patterns, etc), and a signage proposal for the museum. Other deliverables included a membership pack and collateral items.
The paper was an introduction to the theories and principles of visual identity creation. The aim was to investigate a target audience and market competition to propose an informed design strategy that answers several connected briefs. The commercially led brief embraces cultural identity, history, pattern, motif, and symbology - requiring deep research into the cultural significance of form, colour and symbols, and their communicative meaning and function.

My visual identity system embodies the core values of connection, interaction, creativity, inclusivity, and warmth. Through customized typography in the logo, as well as a series of graphic elements and patterns, I aim to communicate a sense of connection. Bright and diverse colours are employed to symbolize creativity and inclusivity. Each element of my visual identity system has been meticulously crafted to align with my brand's mission and values.
Below are the logo variations, mockups of collateral and signage, as well as a few pages selected from my brand manual. I received an overall A- grade for this assessment.
