Mini Brand Design Project for a Hypothetical Woodfire Pizza Restaurant
Over the summer of 2023-2024, I created a mini visual identity based on an Instagram brand brief for a wood-fired pizza restaurant, Fire Pizza.
The Brief:
In the heart of Los Angeles, Fire Pizza ignites the taste buds with its sparkling culinary passion. Founded with a passionate commitment to making exceptional pizzas, each slice is a symphony of flavours that dance on your palate. The wood-fired ovens create a culinary masterpiece, a testament to our commitment to quality ingredients and artisanal craftsmanship. Fire Pizza needs branding for its popular product.
Deliverables:
Logo design and variations, take-away packaging, social media templates.
For the logo, I used a sleek and bold typeface, Gopher, which exudes cleanliness, modernity, and professionalism, aligning perfectly with Fire Pizza's core values. By integrating both regular and italic versions of the font, I achieved a harmonious yet subtly contrasting aesthetic. By creatively manipulating the letter 'a' to resemble a slice of pizza with melting cheese, I visually captured the essence of Fire Pizza's offerings, establishing a distinctive point of difference in the logo. Additionally, the inclusion of a flame icon not only embodies the brand's name but also adds a subtle yet striking element to the design.
To further reinforce the brand's identity, I incorporated the slogan "ignite your tastebuds" from the provided brief, which reflects the fiery essence of Fire Pizza, and the experience it provides. In addition, I developed a series of simple illustrations depicting the various components that contribute to crafting wood-fired pizzas. These illustrations seamlessly integrate into the packaging and social media templates, enhancing the overall visual identity of the brand.
The colour palette I selected combines neutral and bold hues reminiscent of the colors found in pizzas. By juxtaposing dark and light shades, as well as warm and cool tones, I achieved a sense of cohesion and unity, mirroring the diverse flavors and ingredients found in Fire Pizza's offerings.
